COVID-19

03/30/2020

While at this time there are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Lancaster County or Bennet, the Village of Bennet would like to be proactive in taking steps to avoid the pandemic in our community.

The Village Office will be closed to walk in traffic effective March 19, 2020.  We will work with citizens to conduct as much business as possible electronically or by phone. Citizens are encouraged to pay their utility bills, license pets and renew garbage permits by mail or drop-box.

Staff will continue to be available Monday – Thursday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm via phone and will be available by appointment if necessary. You can reach the Village Office at (402)782-3300.

The Village of Bennet encourages citizens, local businesses and community groups to follow state and CDC guidelines and social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19

  • Limit public events to 10 people or less
  • Keep 6’ distance from others.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Wash your hands often
  • Avoid touching your face, nose & eyes
  • Avoid shaking hands
  • If you feel sick, stay home.
  • If your children are sick, keep them at home.
  • If someone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19, keep the entire household at home.
  • If you are a senior citizen, stay home and avoid contact with other people.
  • If you are a person with a serious underlying health condition, stay home and avoid contact with other people.

Residents are encouraged to monitor the Lancaster County Health Department for news and updates on this rapidly-evolving situation.  www.lincoln.ne.gov/city/health
