Street Closure Plan

• Notice: Cottonwood Street will be closed between Van Buren Street and Tyler Street from Monday 10/6 through Wednesday 10/8 in order for water main work to occur.  Local driveway access will be allowed.
• Barricades will be placed at the Van Buren and Tyler intersections. 
• A live tap of the water main will be made on the south side of Cottonwood. There should not be an interruption in water service for that area.
• Asphalt pavement will be placed on Wednesday afternoon/evening and ready for traffic on Thursday morning, providing there is no unexpected weather or problems.

The City of Bennet has two job openings available at this time.  The Clerk Assistant position will be working at the city office and will report to the City Clerk.  The Refuse Site Attendant will be working at the Garbage Dump and will report to the City Utilities Superintendent.  To apply, complete the Bennet Employment Application and submit it to the City Clerk at the city office, 685 Monroe Street or email: cityclerk@cityofbennet.com.  For questions, please call 402-782-3300.

The City Council adopted a new fee schedule on May 12th, 2025.  This schedule includes changes in the garbage rates, pet licenses and building permits/plan reviews.
