The City of Bennet is hiring for a public works position that will report directly to the Utility Superintendent.                                                                                           Please contact the city office, 402-782-3300, email: cityclerk@cityofbennet.com.  

Application and job description:

The City of Bennet is requesting bids for the design and construction of a 48-50’ W x 80’L x 14’ H post frame building with steel roof and walls.  Bids shall be received at the City of Bennet office located at 685 Monroe St, Bennet, NE 68317 until January 22, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Please contact the City of Bennet at cityclerk@cityofbennet.comto request a copy of the performance specifications. Bids shall include a lump sum price for performing the work and shall be submitted in a sealed envelope.  Bid bonds are not required. Construction of the building shall be completed by August 31, 2026.

The planning team would like to thank the residents, property owners, elected officials, city staff, and business owners who participated in the development of Bennet’s Downtown Economic Development Plan. Assistance from all has been invaluable and has been used to create the vision and recommendations laid out in this Plan. Much appreciation to the American Legion Post 280 of Bennet, Nebraska for their contributions during the public engagement portion of this process. The City Council adopted a new fee schedule on December 15, 2025.  This schedule includes changes in the garbage rates, pet licenses and building permits/plan reviews.
