The City of Bennet applies for and receives funds from the Keep Lincoln & Lancaster County Beautiful Neighborhood Association's program. This year Bennet received approval for up to $3,384 for costs associated with the 2023 Clean Up Day activities. These funds will be used to pay for the open top containers at the refuse site, the electronics that were dropped off that have a surcharge (TV's & microwaves) and for Paper Tiger Shredding truck and staff. This is a great program that the City of Bennet is proud to be a part of!
Thank you to all the volunteers that braved the cold weather to pick up litter and trash throughout the City of Bennet and along the highways north and south of the city limits. A great big thank you to those volunteers who picked up and disposed of unwanted furniture from several houses for city residents.
The Electronic Recycling was a big hit this year! We had over 2 pick up loads plus what could fit into the cardboard containers. Thank you to all the residents for bringing their old electronics to be recycled instead of put in the landfill!
The shredding day event was really appreciated and we received approximately 3,000 pounds of paper items to shred. It was great to be able to provide a safe place to help our residents get rid of those old tax records we all seem to keep forever!
Thank you to Paper Tiger for being a part of this program this year!
